A simple wire basket suet feeder will bring in to your yard a variety of birds such as woodpeckers, nuthatches, chickadees, titmice, thrashers, wrens and more.

 A more woodpecker friendly tail prop suet feeder gives your woodpeckers an additional space for support for their stiff tails allowing a more natural feeding position.  

Jays and starlings also love suet, but if they become a problem try an upside down suet feeder.  The strong legs of birds that can cling to the trunk of a tree allow them to  reach the suet.

If the suet feeding birds leave you in the summer, fill the feeder with orange slices to attract orioles or a nesting ball to bring in birds which don’t nornally come to feeders.
